All Hospitable users now have access to our new and improved ChatGPT prompt.

This upgrade will allow you to use the Suggest with AI feature in the Hospitable inbox to answer even more questions related to your property, rules, policies, as well as reservation details.

Custom quotes for Direct

Custom Quotes are now live, allowing Direct Basic and Premium hosts to generate a personalized quote for guests who may contact them outside of their Direct booking website. We'll hold a temporary block on the dates until the guest completes payment, or until the quote expires, unblocking the dates. More info.

Legacy widget wind down

If you're using a self-hosted Direct site and still use the old version of our booking widget, you'll need to update before February 15th. Check our help article for more info. Hospitable sites are not impacted.

You now define a parent-child relationship between Hospitable properties to block calendars based on related property bookings! Gone are the days where you're manually blocking dates as fast as you can before they're booked... we've got you covered across all booking platforms - no iCal hacks or anxious manual blocking required ๐Ÿ™Œ

You can now define a parent-child relationship between Hospitable properties to sync availability across properties! Gone are the days where you're manually blocking dates as fast as you can before they're booked... we've got you covered across all booking platforms - no iCal hacks or anxious manual blocking required ๐Ÿ™Œ

Hospitable supports two different scenarios, each with their own behavior.

  • A parent with multiple children, where a booking on the child property blocks the parent property's calendar. This is meant for hosts who have duplexes, triplexes or similar properties.
  • A parent with multiple children, where a booking on the child property blocks the parent and all other children property's calendars. This is meant for hosts who have large homes that they list as a smaller subset of the home available to optimize for more bookings in slower seasons.

Automatically share property-specific rental agreement and guidebook links to your guests โœจ

Short codes are used to dynamically pull information from outside sources into your messaging rules. Most of the time, short code data is pulled from the booking platform. We're re-imagining how hosts leverage short codes, starting with 2 new short codes: %guidebook% and %rental_agreement%.

These short codes are property-specific, and populated by you - our hosts - giving you the flexibility to send any type of guidebook or rental agreement URL automatically through messaging rules.

We're definitely not stopping here. Soon, we'll be giving integration partners access to these short codes so they can be dynamically populated by integrations for each reservation, offering more granularity and an even better guest (and host!) experience. Stay tuned ๐Ÿ‘€

Smart Lock Updates + Improvements

In our latest round of enhancements, we're bringing you several exciting updates to our smart lock features:

New Integrations

IglooHome and Nuki Locks are now available for all users.

Backup Codes + Code Communication

To further enhance smart lock reliability, backup codes and code communications to guests are now the default setting for all beta users. This will soon be live for all users as well!

No More Code Communication Reminder Messages

After some great feedback, we removed the code communication reminder messages. We will now only communicate a code on your behalf if no code has been sent or if there was an issue with the code that was sent.

Improved Display of Connection Requirements
We now display when a lock isn't connected due to a subscription issue or if a required hub isn't connected.

New Notifications for Failures

Receive real-time notifications if a reservation is altered during a guest's stay and the code cannot be updated.

Code Length and Denial Issues Resolved

We've fixed issues related to the code length not setting correctly or being denied incorrectly.

Talk to your guests in their preferred language.

We normally use the language of the guest's first message to determine their preferred language, but some reservations start before we receive any messages from the guest. In those cases, we now get the preferred language from the guest's Airbnb or Vrbo preferences.

Enable the 'Prioritize the language of the conversation' toggle in Hospitable account's Settings > Preferences > Guest experience to allow Hospitable to send message templates in your guest's preferred language, if present.

After successful beta testing, the IglooHome smart locks integration is now launched for all users!

Just go to your Apps page, select the IglooHome app card, and click Connect. We'll start creating and managing the codes for all your reservations right away!

We do not support offline pin codes (algoPINs), and some locks require a bridge or keypad to be connected.

The new and improved Public API is here! Personal access tokens, OAuth and more ๐ŸŽ‰

We've just released the next iteration of our Public API (v2), built with developer experience at the forefront, all in an effort to gift you - our hosts - your time back.

To access your account programmatically through our Public API, you can safely and securely generate an Access token on the new API access page. This token will grant you read and write access to your account via API, depending on the access you select.

  • View properties, property images and calendar data (including pricing and availability).
  • View reservations, including guest information and a detailed financial breakdown from both your perspective and your guests.
  • Update your property calendar, including making changes to pricing and availability.

In addition, vendors can now safely and securely access mutual customer accounts via OAuth, greatly simplifying the connection process and removing the need for hosts to manually share legacy client ids and secrets with vendors ๐ŸŽ‰
